Word to PDF — frequently asked questions

How do I convert a Word document to PDF for free?

Drop your .docx file on this page or pick one from your computer, then click Convert to PDF. We translate the document into clean HTML using your local fonts and render it to a multi-page PDF.

Which Word formats are supported?

The modern .docx format (Word 2007 and newer). The older .doc binary format isn't supported — open it in Word or Google Docs first and re-save as .docx.

Will my formatting be preserved?

Headings, paragraphs, lists, simple tables, bold/italic, links and inline images come through well. Very complex layouts — multi-column pages, headers/footers, page numbers, footnotes, comments, change tracking — are simplified or omitted.

Will images come through?

Yes — images embedded inside the .docx are extracted and shown inline in the same place in the PDF.

Is my file uploaded to your server?

No. Conversion runs entirely inside your web browser. Your Word file and the resulting PDF never leave your device.

Will the PDF look exactly like Word's print preview?

Visually similar but not pixel-perfect. Word's own print-to-PDF (File → Save as PDF) is the closest if you need an exact reproduction. Use this tool when you don't have Word installed or want a quick browser-based conversion.
